Resident Evil Village - Is it worth playing? - Mistérios Nerd Eng

Resident Evil Village, the game that is being talked about lately, but is it really all that? Follow with us and you will see our answer. Let's start, by the way, there won't be many spoilers, I'll try to say the least so as not to spoil the experience of those who haven't played it yet.

Synopsis

Resident Evil Village, the direct sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, tells the end of Ethan Winters' story after the events with that family in the previous game. At the beginning we see Ethan's quiet life at home with his daughter Rosemary, and of course Mia Winters is present, their quiet and peaceful life is interrupted by a well-known character, Chris Redfield brings chaos to Ethan's life, how? It gets worse, taking Rosemary away and murdering Mia in cold blood, Ethan tries to do something but is knocked out, but when he wakes up he's in a mysterious village where he has to find his daughter and find out what's going on.

In this village begins our challenge as a player, soon we come across objects, photos and some other things that refer to someone called Mother Miranda, apparently she has a lot of influence in this place resembling the religious appreciation (or almost), Ethan has to discover little by little together with us the importance of this person while we try to solve the enigmas and secrets that he has, and of course, face many, many enemies even in search of his daughter.

 Plot

The plot is simple and objective, you as Ethan have to look for your daughter and save her, the interesting thing about the story is that with that simplicity it managed to bring an important character that is Chris Redfield himself, and brought to light a mystery around Umbrella Corporation, that is, a simple thing starts to gain layers of complexity, which adds a lot to the series.

Gameplay

Although the game is not huge, it still provides great fun, the game has about ten hours of game time, for those who like to explore everything and leave nothing behind, this time extends and for those who like the current emotion and focus on fighting and action, the time can be shorter, with side missions and with treasures kept around, we end up investigating everything to survive.

The return of Mercenary Mode or Hardcore Mode added even more to the game especially for those who like the challenge beyond the standard that the game provides.

About the gameplay it is very pleasant and comfortable, and with the classic Resident Evil scheme of your inventory back the game was very good and with the tone of "missing" for those who played the predecessors. The progression is actually well implemented, you find new things when you're finishing learning something, which gives the feeling of always evolving and doesn't make the game monotonous.

Villains

[ I don't know if this is a spoiler but if you don't want to know the villains skip to the next topic]

The variety of enemies is sensational, and having the "specific weapon" to defeat such a monster is simply brilliant, because there is no such thing as an appealing weapon, the best weapon 'ever', which makes it difficult for players, but in compensation brings more emotion and sense of constant danger.

Speaking of danger, I will introduce the game's bosses, we have the well-known Lady Dimitrescu and her beautiful castle, Donna Beneviento and her terrifying macabre house, Salvatore Moreau with the most tense scenario, and last but not least Karl Heisenberg with his giant factory and with the most difficult enemies, and of course Mother Miranda, I will leave her out because she already appears in the end of the game, so I won't comment on her but if you want to see a post about her comment there comments. Coming back, I believe that in each scenario the villain represents a different type of terror, see him below:

Lady Dimitrescu: I believe her scenario is the psychological terror of being chased, at various times someone from the house appears and takes Ethan by surprise, and many times we have to run or even fight.

Donna Beneviento: Her psychological terror is the most interesting, she manages to make us afraid of objects and even disgusting things, well, naturally there are people who can be afraid of dolls and disgusting things behind him, but the way he game uses this is very intriguing because it leaves the player in a desperate state, this is one of my favorite levels, if you like other levels comment below, it would be very cool to share your opinion.

Salvatore Moreau: In terms of disgusting I think this one wins, the aquatic scenario makes the game unpredictable in the eyes of the players, which makes you more tense, and in the moments that he comes after you we don't know if he will be able to catch us, the that makes us very happy when we step on solid ground and away from the water.

Karl Heisenberg: The powerful magneto, jokes aside, Heisenberg certainly owns the most difficult stage, and without a doubt he should be, because when we get to it, the game is already in the final stretch. Regarding the stages, Heisenberg's scenario becomes difficult due to the fight with his monsters, which requires precision on the part of the player, which makes it more complicated than usual and fun because of the danger.

Soundtrack and graphics

Undoubtedly the soundtrack fits the scenario and the moment of the game it changes all the time, there are moments when the music is silent and of course we wait for something to happen, but in the end nothing happens and even so our state of alert goes there above, mainly because of the sound and noise of the environment, when we are in old houses the furniture squeaks and makes noise by itself and that increases our fear.

The graphics left something to be desired, as a game being released for the new generation they could have improved with the Ray-tracing technology, but for still being available for the PS4 I understand the graphics since the console can't handle it, and therefore the graphics are excellent and very beautiful one of the most whimsical I've ever seen, but for a new generation it could improve even more and be even more beautiful and realistic.

My opinion

Despite liking the simplicity and the game being objective, loving all aspects of the game and its story, I didn't like some villains, like Karl Heisenberg, it was the most boring part I found, the enemies went out of the pattern, it seemed well traveled by least for me, I don't think the enemies and the villain fit well in this story development, but the character itself I liked a lot, the personality and the setting fit well with Heisenberg, but the robotic villains I didn't like, and that prevented me from giving the game full marks, even though it had several qualities and strengths, Heisenberg's part was really the worst for me, maybe if the character was used in another way I would have liked it, but his part was boring and the character It was very good with a lot of potential, that is, it was a waste, with that I will give the game an 8, if you agree or disagree, leave your opinion in the comments, every opinion is welcome.
