TOKYO REVENGERS - Japan gang anime! | Mistérios Nerd Eng

Very good afternoon, or good morning, or good night, today I come to you to talk about a powerful gang and talk about a controversy that it has soon.

Today's anime/manga is Tokyo Revengers, originally it's a manga written and illustrated by Quem Wakiu, no, not that kind of who, the illustrator is Ken Wakiu, publisher Kodansha has serialized in Weekly Shounen magazine since 2017. The anime has already released almost now in April 2021.

Plot

The story takes place in the vision of Takemichi Hanagaki who is 26 years old and considers his life a complete failure, one day he went to watch TV and found out that his girlfriend from high school died, her name is Hinata Tachibana and her brother Naoto Tachibana end up killed by a gang called Tokyo Manji, saddened by what happened Takemichi leaves and ends up being pushed on the train tracks, and when he was going to die he travels to the past exactly 12 years to 2005 in the history of the anime. Takemichi goes back to school time and initially thinks that everything is a dream, on his way back to school he meets Hinata's brother Naoto, he ends up revealing to the boy that he and his sister would die on the same day 12 years ago in the future, and mysteriously after that he goes back to the present time after a handshake, now in the present time he was saved by an older Naoto, who is now a policeman, Naoto managed to survive after Takemichi alerted him but he couldn't save his sister, Takemichi and Naoto discover how they go back to the past and now they struggle to solve the mystery behind Hinata's murder, and what happened to the Manji Gang that Takemichi participated in when he was little.

Hinata and Takemichi

An addendum is that when Takemichi goes back to the past he ends up meeting the leader of the Toman gang (short for TOkyo MANji), Manjiro Sano nicknamed "Mikey", the culprit or involved in Hinata's death, but Takemichi gradually discovers that Mikey is not the evil villain he thought he would be, and discovers that the spark that made Mikey become the guy he is in the future was the Draken's death caused by Tetta Kisaki who planned it all, Draken is Toman's second in command and the most close to Mikey. and on August 3, 2005 he dies with the internal conflict involving the Moebius Gang, Takemichi decides that he has to save Hina (Hinata), Naoto, Draken and possibly Mikey, if he saves Draken Mikey will not succumb to violence and Hina in the future will be alive and Draken too, and of course, Takemichi also has to find out who is responsible for planning Draken's death, who is responsible for the death of Hinata and Naoto and who threw him on the train tracks. A lot of mystery right? The way everyone likes it.

Anime

As I mentioned the anime started to be released in April 2021 and was produced by Linden Films and directed by Koichi Hatsumi. The anime has a peculiar thing about it that brought up a controversy that I will soon clear up.

Sales

The anime clearly increased the sales of the manga either because of its plot or because of the captivating characters, we know so far that the increase was 670% according to Kodansha, thanks to that the anime became a hit and surpassed the 10 million mark. copies, really an important achievement.

My opinion

Talking about the animation and songs of the anime, I particularly found the animation reasonable, but seeing that there is a lot of bad animation out there nowadays, I consider the animation very good, the opening is remarkable and fits with the style of the anime, I admit that the character designer didn't appeal to me, which is why I initially didn't want to see the anime, but when I saw it I found it super interesting and captivating. The plot is simple, it's about time travel and the author managed to hide the possible mistakes he would make, but we forgive if there are, the characters are remarkable and very charismatic, I myself liked the characters that the author wanted us to liked it, and hated what he wanted us to hate, and with the hint of mystery it made it even better.

After watching the anime, and I reveal that I saw it very quickly, I saw all the episodes available in one day, I went to the manga, and I won't say spoilers, but the story takes better and better proportions and doesn't disappoint, there are moments that it makes you apprehensive and it leaves the cliché that the protagonist will save everyone and no one will get hurt, there the author tried to make it as realistic as possible, so things happen and the protagonist is not strong, the manga is well designed and follows the same style as anime, so the character designer was based on the manga which was obvious, but if you enjoyed the anime and like to read I recommend the manga, it is very interesting. Despite my review being more positive than negative, I don't think the anime is perfect or anything like that, it's rare to have a well-written script like it, but in my opinion, I believe it would be nice to just go back to the past and that's it, oh he would have to sort it all out, and yes I understand that it's part of the story for him to always come back but a part of me still tends to the "he should come back and he's gone" part, because usually traveling back and forth causes confusion and mistakes , the author tried to protect and hide the mistakes and he managed to keep the timeline coherent and simple without confusing anyone, I really congratulate him, but as much as I think I won't give the anime/manga a 10, I think a 9 is perfect.
